Building a Birdhouse Together

Placeholder of a homemade birdhouse

The birdhouse was supposed to be a one-hour project. It became a Saturday, and nobody complained.

We used scrap wood from the shed, a hinge that almost matched, and more nails than strictly required. Measuring twice is a skill we are still practicing.

When it was painted a friendly cream and moss green, we set it on the porch railing to dry. A wren inspected it before supper. That felt like a blessing.

Projects like this are why we wanted a family site: pictures of ordinary making, stories of ordinary trying, and no rush to sell anything.
